As the seasons change, you may notice changes in your skin too. Coming out of the dry, cold winter months, there’s a good chance your skin is feeling parched. Dry skin is one of the most common skincare concerns—but it’s also one of the easiest to address. For many, a good daily moisturizer can make all the difference (especially if you don't already moisturize). But if your skin still feels tight or irritated there are more advanced solutions that can help restore lasting hydration.

Hydrated skin reflects light better than dry skin which is essentially what creates the "glow" everyone wants. Keep on reading for a deep dive into everything from basic moisturizers, humectants, and tips for locking moisture into your skin.

Moisturizer 101

  • Light and Easy:   Our most versatile moisturizer is also our lightest. AMPM   is designed for daily use—morning and night—and its fast-absorbing, non-greasy formula makes it ideal for normal to oily skin, especially in warmer, more humid climates. Infused with Betaine, Green Tea Extract, and Aloe Vera Juice, it hydrates, soothes, and helps protect skin from environmental stressors.
  • Heavy Lifter:  If your skin leans dry—especially during cold, dry winter months—you may need something with more support. Our rich day cream, SUEDE
    L´ÉCLAT
, is formulated with an adaptogen blend of Ashwagandha and Rhodiola Rosea, plus powerful humectants (more on those below) to help your skin handle daily stress. Apply it in the morning to replenish lost moisture during sleep and give your skin the reset it needs. There's a reason SUEDE L'ÉCLAT is the work horse in our best-selling kit REGIME No 1
  • Ultra intensive a skin repair: A few times a week—or after one too many negronis—reach for something fully restorative. BEACH GRASS is our richest, most intensive formula: a leave-on overnight mask designed to help your skin reset while you sleep. Powered by potent blend of adaptogens and a peptide-active (niacinamide), it works to calm, repair, and restore balance to tired, stressed-out skin. If you’re on the oilier side, once a week is plenty—but for dry or depleted skin, use as needed for an overnight revival. Another popular staple of  REGIME No 1
*This is why staying hydrated matters - your cells need it to perform. Maybe it's time to invest in a new chic water bottle that can carry your daily need ;)

WTF is a humectant?

You can think of humectant as molecular moisture magnets (MMM, coined it). These molecules draw and hold on to water in the top layer of the skin - either from the deeper within your body or from the environment - keeping your skin smooth and firm. Examples include glycerin and and the ever-popular hylauronic acid and they can be found in everything from serums, to moisturizers, to masks.

Why should you care? Because hydrated healthy skin reflects water better than dry skin, which creates the "glow" effect everyone wants. Hylauronic acid , or instance, is famous for being able to hold 1000x its molecular weight in water.

Need a quick fix? Our Le Fix sheet mask is packed with hyaluronic acid and bamboo extract to deeply hydrate, calm redness, and boost glow. It’s like a tall glass of water for your face—delivered in a cooling, two-piece mask (easier to apply around facial hair) that hugs your skin and gets to work fast. There’s a reason Café Magazine called Le Fix “the ultimate hangover killer”—but its magic works just as well during a long-haul flight or as a restorative Sunday night reset.

But you want to avoid drawing moisture out of the skin, skip to the next section for an explainer of how to lock in moisture.

Locking in moisture: tips for applying

As mentioned, humectants draw moisture either from the air or from deeper layers of your skin. If you live in a dry climate or have dry skin, it’s important to make sure that moisture isn't being pulled out of your skin.

The solution is simple: always apply humectant-rich products like serums or moisturizers to damp skin. That means right after cleansing or splashing your face with water—before your skin dries completely. This helps the product pull moisture from the surface rather than dehydrating your skin from within. Don’t forget: any time you use a serum (like the one in Le Fix), you should always follow with a moisturizer to seal everything in.
